The OAF welcomes Amy Kavelaris to its board of directors
by Rebecca Seymour
Born and raised in Oconomowoc, Amy Kavelaris has lived around the country, but came back with her husband to raise their family in what she knows is “one of the best cities in the nation!”
Amy is a best-selling author, illustrator, commercial artist, and business owner. She grew up drawing and writing poetry in a tree overlooking the lake and now her work can be spotted in Target, Walmart, Costco, Anthropologie, Better Homes & Gardens, as well as in homes around the globe. She has collaborated with countless clients, including Grammy Award-Winning artists, Skechers Shoes, Pampers Diapers, and has served as a judge for the Miss America Foundation.
Amy finds great joy in serving the Oconomowoc community through several wonderful non-profits, including Zachariah’s Acres, and as committee chair for the Oconomowoc Festival of the Arts. She feels honored to now have the opportunity to serve on the OAF’s board of directors.
“Observing firsthand the incredibly multifaceted impact that the OAF has on our community, I am humbled beyond words to accept the position of board member,” said Amy. “As Oconomowoc expands, I’m delighted to link arms with a team that seeks to serve its fellow citizens, holding fast to our small town, others-focused values. What a place to live! There truly is no place like Oconomowoc.”
Amy and her husband Nick and their three daughters live in Oconomowoc, where they enjoy playing tennis together, paddle boarding, traveling, serving in their children’s school and church community.
