Sigi Miller was born and raised in Oconomowoc. Her parents came over as refugees from Germany in 1956, sponsored by Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. When she was a little girl, Sigi’s mother would take her along when she volunteered at Shorehaven. She also volunteered with the Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, making baby blankets, and in later years, she made prayer shawls and lap blankets for AngelsGrace Hospice.

Sigi has an associate’s degree in political science and worked in the healthcare field for 35 years. She has also been passionate about giving back to her community, volunteering in the school district and for many community organizations throughout the years, receiving the Oconomowoc Chamber of Commerce “Giraffe Award” for sticking her neck out for others through her community service in 2012.

Sigi has served as president of the Parent Teacher Student Association, and on the board for the Oconomowoc Lake Club. She has also shared her time and talents for many years on the fundraising committee for the Lake Area Free Clinic’s yearly Gala, and currently volunteers at AngelsGrace Hospice.

Sigi and her husband Mike raised their three children in Oconomowoc and are now enjoying spending time with their six grandchildren.

“My greatest joy is family, spending as much time with all of them as possible, especially my six grandchildren. I host a week long ‘Mimi’ camp each summer, making wonderful memories through treasures like the Imagination Station, Splash Pad, Wizard of Oz, the boardwalk, City Beach, the library, and parks,” said Sigi. “The Oconomowoc Area Foundation supports so much in our community. I am honored and humbled to be invited to be on the Board of Directors of the OAF. We are truly blessed in this city!”
