Peter Schwabe has been a proud member of the Oconomowoc community since the early 1990s, when he and his wife, Nancy, moved here to raise their family. A passionate advocate for local growth and the arts, Peter has taken on leadership roles with organizations such as the Oconomowoc Arts Center, the Economic Development Committee, St. Jerome’s Church, and the Knights of Columbus, as well as regional groups including the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Women’s Care Center.

“We have been in Oconomowoc for over 30 years where we raised our family a couple blocks from downtown. Our favorite family activity was walking around Fowler Lake and enjoying all the perks of being downtown and near the lakes. We recently moved north of town where we have been tending to gardens and apple trees. We love learning about new places, people and how we can better care for our planet and each other,” Peter said.

As President and third-generation leader of Peter Schwabe, Inc., a family-owned commercial construction company building throughout the Midwest since 1927, Peter combined business leadership with a commitment to community service.

He and Nancy enjoy hiking and the vibrant performing arts scene in Lake Country and Milwaukee. Peter is honored to continue serving Oconomowoc through the Oconomowoc Area Foundation.

Peter Schwabe considers it a blessing to work with people who strive to understand the needs and make a difference in their community.

“It’s been a joy seeing Oconomowoc continue to grow in beauty. Yet there are many needs in our community that go unmet. It will be a blessing to work with people who strive to understand those needs and make a difference,” added Peter.
