The Oconomowoc Woman’s Club creates a lasting legacy through new charitable fund

We are pleased to announce that on February 20, 2024 the Oconomowoc Woman’s Club (OWC) established the Oconomowoc Woman’s Club Charitable Endowment Fund through the Oconomowoc Area Foundation.
Members of the Oconomowoc Area Foundation’s board of directors, along with Will Janisch, Senior Philanthropic Adviser with the Greater Milwaukee Foundation were invited to the OWC’s monthly luncheon and meeting at the Oconomowoc Lake Club on Oct. 2. Both groups had the opportunity to learn more about how we are all working to make a difference in our community.

Members of the Oconomowoc Woman’s Club and the Oconomowoc Area Foundation met in February to help kick off the new Oconomowoc Woman’s Club Charitable Endowment Fund. “Establishing the Oconomowoc Woman’s Club Charitable Endowment Fund is a wonderful way we can celebrate our 75th anniversary and the longevity of our club. The fund allows us to diversify, stabilize, and grow our charitable giving,” explained Charlene Dwyer, OWC treasurer.
Since its founding in 1949, the dedicated members of the Oconomowoc Woman’s Club have worked to improve the lives of others, their community, and the world, all while growing friendships and having some fun along the way.
Through their mission to organize and participate in several annual fundraisers, their club has flourished as members share the talents and gifts they have to serve others. Their projects and fundraisers support approximately 20 different local charities, as well as scholarships to students from the Oconomowoc area.
We are so grateful for the amazing generosity of the women who make up the Oconomowoc Woman’s Club. Their partnership through their charitable fund helps create a lasting legacy by giving back to the greater Oconomowoc community for generations to come.
