The Oconomowoc Area Foundation is pleased to announce that we received 48 grant applications from area nonprofit organizations with requests totaling more than $700,000 during our 2023 grant cycle. In 2022, the OAF awarded close to $300,000 in grants to 26 nonprofits impacting the greater Oconomowoc community.

In August, members of the OAF board, with guidance from our Greater Milwaukee Foundation partners, will carefully and thoughtfully review each grant application.

Each year, the foundation awards grants to organizations that serve communities within the Oconomowoc Area School District, including the towns of Ashippun, Okauchee, Ixonia, Summit, Dousman, and Nashotah. Our mission is to support programs focused on caring for children, families, and the elderly, developing youth, helping those in need, preserving the environment through conservation, restoration, and education, and enriching the community through economic, cultural and arts development.

Since its founding in 2002, the OAF has awarded $4.7 million to over 125 area nonprofit organizations.

“When the OAF was founded more than 20 years ago, we didn’t know there would be so many needs. But we do know what it means to be a community where people support each other, no matter the need. It’s about bringing a community together,” said Maribeth Bush, coordinator for the OAF.

The OAF Annual Celebration and Grant Announcements will take place at 5:30 p.m. Friday, October 27, at The Golden Mast Inn on Okauchee Lake. Stay tuned for more information!

“I’m so humbled to be a part of the Oconomowoc Area Foundation. This is an incredible organization and we’re so blessed to live in an incredible community that is dedicated to helping others,” said OAF Board Chairman Bob Johnson.
