The Oconomowoc Area Foundation introduces new Impact Team

In our ongoing effort to strengthen the connection between the Oconomowoc Area Foundation and the greater Oconomowoc community, we are proud to announce the formation of the OAF Impact Team. This new community service arm of the OAF was created by combining the resources and membership of the foundation’s Advisory Board and the Emerging Leaders.
The OAF Impact Team will focus on identifying and engaging in meaningful hands-on service projects that support organizations funded by the OAF and that help drive the Oconomowoc economy. Volunteers will serve as ambassadors and increase the visibility of the OAF while working to further the mission of the organization.
Activities include volunteering at Oconomowoc’s annual German Christmas Market, helping to keep Rockwell Park, the Boardwalk on Fowler Lake, and the Oconomowoc Skate Park clean, staffing an OAF information booth at the Summer Farmer’s Market, and so much more.
Other projects may include hosting a multi-generational tea and coffee hour at the Oconomowoc Area Senior Center or providing hands-on assistance at Blessings in a Backpack. The OAF Impact Team plans to identify and facilitate several of these types of events each year.
The OAF Impact Team will also continue the tradition of the former Advisory Board and hold quarterly meetings at different OAF-supported area nonprofits to learn more about their work and mission to help our community. The meetings will now start at 8 a.m. to better accommodate work and school schedules.
As we continue to grow and change to meet the needs of the greater Oconomowoc area, we’re hoping new members will be inspired to join the OAF Impact Team. We are reaching out to Oconomowoc residents who have expressed interest in the OAF or who are looking for ways to make a difference in our community.
We are excited to have members of our Advisory Board and Emerging Leaders engage in this new initiative. And please, we want to hear your feedback. Thank you for all you have done for Oconomowoc and the OAF. With your commitment, we look forward to the success of the OAF Impact Team.
