The Oconomowoc Area Foundation is pleased to announce plans to award a record amount of grants to 34 area nonprofit organizations impacting the greater Oconomowoc community.

During its 2024 grant cycle this spring, the community foundation received more than 40 grant applications from nonprofits with requests totaling nearly $500,000. In August, members of the OAF board, with guidance from our Greater Milwaukee Foundation partners, carefully and thoughtfully reviewed each grant application.

The OAF Annual Celebration and Grant Announcements will take place at 5:30 p.m. Friday, October 25, at The Golden Mast Inn on Okauchee Lake. Stay tuned for more information!

Each year, the foundation awards grants to organizations that serve communities within the Oconomowoc Area School District. Our mission is to support programs focused on caring for children, families, and the elderly, developing youth, helping those in need, preserving the environment through conservation, restoration, and education, and enriching the community through economic, cultural and arts development.

More than 20 years ago, passionate idea makers living in the Oconomowoc area sparked a movement. They imagined what could happen if neighbors dedicated to giving back in meaningful ways could join resources together to make positive changes within their community and beyond.

The idea of the Oconomowoc Area Foundation was set in motion, and since its inception in 2002, we have awarded nearly 5 million dollars to more than 130 area nonprofit organizations.

Imagine having the ability to lift up and celebrate the nonprofits working to help change lives and make the greater Oconomowoc community a better place to live, work and play. The vision of our founding donors was to establish a community foundation that would partner with generous givers invested in perpetuating this spirit of giving into lasting legacies.

The mission of the OAF is to grow community giving for lifetimes to come. The seeds we plant today will grow and flourish forever – for our children and grandchildren and for generations.

When life’s been good to you, it’s good to give something back. Together we can set in place something special that will last forever.
