Spring has finally arrived and so has the Oconomowoc Area Foundation’s 2024 Grants Cycle! This is our favorite time of year because we have the opportunity to connect with hard-working and passionate people through their nonprofit organizations.

Our OAF Grants Info Session on April 23 was an amazing event! We had 46 people attend, representing 33 nonprofits. There were several nonprofits in attendance that we haven’t seen before. The positive energy in the room was inspiring and we noticed that many people stayed around afterward to keep conversations going.

Michael and his daughter Rebecca attended the OAF Grants Info Session on April 23. “It was powerful for me to hear from all these groups that contribute to Rebecca’s life in so many ways,” he said.

A highlight of the morning was when a gentleman stood up after everyone introduced themselves and their missions and said that he was feeling so grateful because he knows his daughter has personally benefited from at least five of the nonprofits represented in the room. Coming together to help meet the changing needs of our community is why we do this!

The OAF makes grants to nonprofit organizations that serve communities within the Oconomowoc Area School District, including the towns of Ashippun, Ixonia, Okauchee, Summit, Dousman, and Nashotah. It is not necessary that the organization be physically located within the greater Oconomowoc area, but that it can demonstrate it provides services to the residents of these communities.

The priorities for support from the OAF are:

  • Programs for children and youth
  • Programs providing support services for the elderly.
  • Programs providing support services for people facing undue hardship or life-threatening conditions.
  • Programs that preserve and protect the environment and wildlife.
  • Programs that enrich the community through economic, cultural, and arts development.

The OAF Online Grant Cycle Closes Friday, June 7, 2024. No late applications will be accepted.
