In 2023, the OAF awarded grants to 32 nonprofit organizations impacting the greater Oconomowoc community. What can we do this year?
by The Oconomowoc Area Foundation
Inspired by Oconomowoc hardware store owner and philanthropist Hilbert N. Scherffius and guided by civic leaders and committed volunteers, the Oconomowoc Area Foundation was created in 2002 to provide an easy, effective way for area residents to provide lasting support for local charitable causes.
The OAF is looking forward to this year’s Grant Application Cycle! The Foundation makes grants to nonprofit organizations that serve communities within the Oconomowoc Area School District, including the towns of Ashippun, Ixonia, Okauchee, Summit, Dousman, and Nashotah. It is not necessary that the organization be physically located within the greater Oconomowoc area, but that it can demonstrate it provides services to the residents of these communities.
The Priorities for Support from the OAF Are:
- Programs for children and youth.
- Programs providing support services for the elderly.
- Programs providing support services for people facing undue hardship or life-threatening conditions.
- Programs that preserve and protect the environment and wildlife.
- Programs that enrich the community through economic, cultural, and arts development.
